Introducing our Council Members…

There are unseen hands behind things at BGST. We would like to make them a little more visible by allowing them to introduce themselves. Meet the men and women who sit on the BGST Council and who provide the vision and direction of the School. They are …
 
SIEW KIM SIANG works as a Regional Controller and has HR/Admin responsibilities in a medium-size German-Sing JV dealing with industrial steel and related products/services. He is the Elder in-charge of the Outreach to Blue Collar PRC Workers at Mt Carmel BP Church and Chairman of the church’s Standing Committee overseeing HR, Finance and Building. He is extensively involved in leading worship services, prayer meetings and the teaching of adults. Kim Siang is married to Susannah, his wife of 31 years, and has 3 children, Eugene (27), Matthew (24) & Sarah (21). Recently, Kim Siang graduated from BGST with a MCS. He is the Secretary of the BGST Council and Chairman of the Fundraising Committee. Initiatives that Kim Siang has inaugurated in BGST include a fundraising Golf Tournament, Fundraising Dinner and the Gideon’s Army of regular pledgers. These initiatives have raised more than one million dollars last year for BGST.
 
LOH MUN FEI works with SP PowerGrid Pte Ltd in the Transmission Engineering Section mainly Engineering/Tunnel Projects. He is an Elder of Hebron Bible-Presbyterian Church and in-charge of the Care Group Ministry. His wife, Wai Fong, is a secondary school teacher. His older daughter Hannah is therapist and his younger son Barnabas is a fulltime SAF National Serviceman. Mun Fei graduated from BGST with a Grad Dip CS (1996) and chairs the Committee on Student and Alumni Affairs. This Committee is working on initiatives to better serve our students and alumni and to obtain their feedback on how to improve our communications and relationships with students and alumni. Mun Fei will be the Council member who will be the Council’s link to the SANE. If any of you have any suggestions for improvement or ideas on services we can deliver to students and alumni – kindly contact Mun Fei! 


Congratulations to Tan Kok Choon and Sophia!
 

“This is Emma Epide Tan, daughter of KC and Sophia.” I was born on 8 July 2008 at 4:48am. My delivery was very smooth. I was a good girl and did not give my mama any stress. I weighed 3.66kg and measured 49cm long at my birth. Continue to pray for me to grow in stature and favour before man and God.” 

Kok Choon and Sophia are taking courses at BGST to complete their Regent College (Vancouver, Canada) degrees.



Introducing Our Recent Graduates...

Mr Yoong Yuen Soo
Grad Dip CS (summa cum laude) M Div, (magna cum laude)
Yuen Soo started work in P.U.B. as a water engineer for 2.5 years. He then went on to Singapore Polytechnic to teach civil engineering for the next 26.5 years. He is an Elder of Bethesda Chapel. He plans to continue with theological studies at BGST. His life verse is Isaiah 50:4: ‘The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him that is weary. Morning by morning He wakens, He wakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.’ 
 
Mr Bernard Chaing Boon Twee
Grad Dip CS, MCS
Bernard served as Chief Steward at the Singapore Airlines and at the same time worked in the real estate business for twenty years, before joining BGST. He leads a worship team and a cell group at Zion B-P Church. He was also involved with the ministry of Before & After School Care as a committee member. He also served as Christian Education chairman at his previous church. His life verse is 1 Peter 3:15: ‘In your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.’ 


CHAPEL NOTES

Our Chapel Speaker on 16 July was Mrs Leong King Teng. We appreciate her faithfulness in praying for BGST and serving with us as a Tutor for Greek language. 
Her message focused on Psalm 19 and she directed our attention on the Power of God’s Communication through His Word.
