BGST Spiritual Retreat

LogoBGST Spiritual Retreat
@ Telunas Kelong Resort

Departure to Batam: 2 July 09, Thu @ 2.30 pm
Return to Singapore: 4 July 09 @ 7.30 pm

As the inaugural BGST Conference is focused on the spiritual formation of the pastoral care-givers, this retreat is designed to allow us to push to the side the externalities of our faith: church programmes, church growth, career advancement, ministry, skills upgrade etc.

The retreat will be a time where each person takes stock of his or her spirituality and communion with the God. He is the One who called us first to Himself before commissioning us to service. The Triune God of Grace is the One with whom we come to meet, speak and be spoken to.

The theme of a quieted soul seeks to highlight a fundamental posture of rest, to learn (re-learn?) this posture of repose as under-shepherds resting in and renewed by the Presence of the Chief Shepherd.

This retreat will be…

  • a time of silence and contemplation.
  • a time of physical and spiritual rest.
  • a time to listen to the Lord and commune with Him only.
  • a time where permission is given to tend to your own spirituality before God.
  • a time to ruminate further on God’s Word.
  • a time to ponder further what had been taught from the Conference.
  • a time to wander, wonder, play, pray.
  • a time of solitude in community
