Many today pursue knowledge and even wisdom. But what about truth? ... What does it mean to be human? Does history have a purpose? Is life meaningful? Can rational people believe in God? With contributions from Francis Collins, Tim Keller, N. T. Wright, Mary Poplin and more, volume editor Dallas Willard introduces each presentation, highlighting its significance and putting it in context for us today. Also included are selected question and answer sessions with the speakers from the original forum experiences.

2The Trinity and an Entangled World: Relationality in Physical Science and Theology
by John Polkinghorne (editor)
(Eerdmans, 2010)
Normal price: $41.25
Book Club members: $35.10 BGST Students: $30.95
(limited stock)

Twentieth-century science discovered that the physical world is profoundly relational — that, thanks to the phenomenon of quantum entanglement, there is a holistic connectivity at the deepest level of physical reality. This new way of comprehending the universe — which brings to mind the mystery at the heart of Trinitarian theology — has inspired thirteen distinguished scholars from physics and theology to explore the role of relationality in both science and religion.

Update on Dr Quek

Dr Quek wishes to thank all who prayed for the total replacement of his right hip. He has had a successful operation and he is much better now. He has been discharged and is now resting at home.

  1. Pray for his convalescence. There will be considerable discomfort. His right hip needs to be kept in neutral position. He must not cross his legs and or twist or turn his body without assistance. Also he is allergic to plaster and needs to be germ-free.
  2. After his discharge a longer recovery period lasting up to 6 weeks may be necessary to ensure that the artificial hip does not dislocate. That is when the metal ball inserted slips out of the socket. Pray for the tissues to heal and the artificial hip to be firmly stabilised.
  3. We are pleased to inform all interested in communicating with Dr Quek that they can:
    (a) send him an SMS to his mobile no. 97865044,
    (b) send him an email to queksh@bgst.edu.sg, or
    (c) visit him. You can visit him at his home: 35 Kovan Road, Kovan Melody, #03-42. Before visiting please call his wife Esther (home tel: 68530997) or Dr Quek (see above for his mobile tel. number) for instructions.
