Introducing Our Graduates from 20th Convocation

MASTERS IN CHRISTIAN STUDIES

April Sim Seok Chew
April spent about 9 years in industry, 5½ years in a Christian organization, and 5 years in part-time work while doing her studies at BGST. She has taught in Sunday School, Youth Vacation Bible Study, follow-up Bible Study for youth converts. In recent years she has not been involved in any ministry or work, having suffered near burn-out, but she is considering returning to ministry and work. She intends to study towards the MDiv at BGST. Her life verse is Matthew 11:29: ‘Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.’

Tang Kok Fai
Kok Fai was an officer in the RSAF for 9 years. He then worked for 10 years in different industries, in business development, mergers and acquisition, and finance. He has pastored Pasir Panjang Hill Brethren Church since 2001. His life verse is Col. 1:28: ‘We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.’

Rolin SanRolin San
Before coming to Singapore, Rolin served as Youth Director at the General Assembly office of the Christian Reformed Church, Myanmar, and also as Assistant Pastor at Immanuel CRC. He has taught at the Reformed Theological College, Yangon, Myanmar. He intends to complete the MDiv at BGST, after which he will join the faculty at Reformed Theological College. His life verse is Romans 8:28: ‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.’

Teo Soon Ann Daniel
Daniel has been involved in youth ministry work for close to 16 years. After graduating from the Theological Centre for Asia, he has been serving in Yishun Christian Church (Anglican) as a youth pastoral staff and, since 2009, in the capacity of youth pastor. He intends to complete an MDiv at BGST. His life verse is taken from Colossians 1:28-29: ‘We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.’

The rest of the graduates will be introduced in the next issues.

Our Founding Principal Emeritus, Dr Quek Swee Hwa, has written a response on 31 May 2011 to the recent development of the Yale-National University of Singapore liberal arts college.  His article has been published in Online ST Forum.
