BGST Family Day

Family Day

The theme for 2011 BGST Family Day was “Missions & Me.” We were privileged to
have Ruth from OMF who gave a video presentation on missions in Japan,
Dr Kenny Tan shared about his personal involvement in rural missions in the
Philippines and Ritchemar gave a report on his campus ministry in the Philippines.
Thank you to the Alumni team who organized the event.

Christmas at BGST
MangerThere will be no chapel services in Dec 2011, except on 21 December 2011 and Rev Dr David Wong will be the chapel speaker. Come and join us on 21 December 2011 at 12pm for a special chapel service and a time of fellowship over potluck lunch. Please contact Ms May Fern at 62276815 x 223 or email kohmf@bgst.edu.sg if you are joining us and the food item you will be bringing.
Chapel Summary
Dr Wong Lea Choung, one of BGST’s alumni (Dip CS, 2003), shared with us his reflections on the interface between his vocation as a medical practitioner and his Christian faith. Having had the privilege of looking after cancer patients and families from various countries, Lea Choung sees his work as akin to cross-cultural missionary work. His view on work was changed after attending a missionary convention conducted by Dr James Hudson Taylor III during his undergraduate days in Australia. Since then, he is convinced of the importance of integrating his faith and profession and has consciously done it in three specific areas of his professional life: (a) clinical care for the families of cancer patients; (b) public education seminars on strategies to cope with cancer; (c) publishing resource materials that deal with cancer; (d) building bridges and interacting with professionals in other countries on the issue of cancer.
