BGST Conference – More than Money: Economic Success as Well-Being
April 7 @ 1:00 pm - 5:30 pmS$50
What if economic policies, businesses and social enterprises could orientate themselves primarily towards improving the well-being of people, society and the environment? What if well-being could become the highest aspiration of societies? What if accounting and performance measurement could include intangible assets like relationships, trust or sustainability? Mark believes that each of these is possible. Drawing from his forthcoming book, An Economy of Well-Being (April 27, 2018), Mark will lay out alternatives that could drastically change how we understand and measure economic prosperity and success.
Mark Anielskis first best-selling book, The Economics of Happiness: Building Genuine Wealth (2007) has helped to shape economic thought in Canada, the US, Europe, French Polynesia and China. Between 2003 and 2006 Mark served as a senior economic advisor to China helping to develop Chinas xiaokang (well-being) indicator and performance measurement system for Chinas municipalities.
