CLAY VESSELS

Side view

 41 x  29 cm diameter

Early Byzantine jar in perfect condition. The large storage jar goes back to Early Bronze III (about 2650-2350 BC), over 500  years before the time of Abraham. In its time it was a rather ordinary household item from a poor family. Today it is a prized exhibit in many a museum. The mouth of the jar is damaged, but  the lip handles with the clay folded back is a distinguishing characteristics of this early type jar.
