News From Alumnus

MakikoMakiko Okada (Dip CS 2011) is from Japan, presently finishing up the requirements of her Master in Christian Studies. She has recently returned to Japan after spending many years in Singapore, first working in an MNC, and latterly studying at BGST while serving as an intern in Covenant EFC. She writes to share some news:

Dear BGST friends,

Thank you so much for your prayers; GOD IS GOOD. He is truly good and I'm amazed at the things happening in the last two weeks, I came back from a 2-week trip to Kobe and Tokyo; it was fruitful. I'm happy to share with you how God answered our prayer. I give thanks to Him and praise His name.

House - Decided:
God enabled me to sell my flat in Kobe within 10 days of posting on an agent's web-site! God granted me a flat near my sister's place in Tokyo on the following day! My parents and I will move in Tokyo in early Oct.(Much earlier than I thought)

Ministry - Under discussion:
I visited Kobe and Tokyo in the last two weeks and saw a number of friends and 6 pastors. It was so nice to see old friends I had known since the 80s. I caught up with them and discussed ministry opportunities. My pastor (Ps. Takahashi of Tachikawa Evangelical Free Church in Tokyo) will appoint me as associate evangelist this month, and he plans to establish a support group for me as well. The details of the ministry are not fixed yet. Once I move into Tokyo, I plan to start small. I have not spoken about the ministry to my parents yet. I pray that God will move them to accept my decision. Please pray for their salvation.

Health - Good:
I thank God for His protection during the trip. I feel slight improvement in my eye-sight though I still have mild distortions in both eyes and a tiny blind spot in my left eye. After today's medical checkup, my doctor agreed to reduce steroid a little more from tomorrow. Praise the Lord!

Study - Slow but Steady:
Now I focus on MM101: Vocation, Work, and Ministry!

Again, thank you so much for your prayer and encouragement. I remember you in my prayer every day.

God's blessings.
