BH112Biblical Hebrew: Hebrew Language and Linguistics II
BH112 : Biblical Hebrew: Hebrew Language and Linguistics II (3 Credit)
Academic Year : 2020-2021
About this course
Biblical Hebrew (BH) is the language of the Old Testament (OT). Thus, learning BH gives us greater insight into the OT and the dynamics of ancient Israelite culture and religion. Studying BH hence deepens our understanding of God’s Word, promoting spiritual formation as well as greater efficacy in preaching and teaching.
This course (the second of a four-course series) will continue to introduce the student to the basics of BH. Given modern BH technological study tools, this course will focus less on memorisation, and instead place greater emphasis on understanding BH language and linguistics. Moreover, this course is specially planned with the busy layperson/pastor in mind, and has several design adaptations to help students learn effectively within less time.
