Diploma in Theological Studies (DipTS)

37 credits
Joint programme with Trinity Theological College
The DipTS is for those who desire foundational yet high quality theological education, for either their own development or in preparation for serving as lay leaders in the Church. Others desire to be involved in Christian ministry but are yet not ready to seek ordination. The DipTS programme provides ultimate flexibility and accessibility. Courses at TTC are offered mainly during the day, while courses at BGST are offered in the evenings or in blended learning or online study formats.

DipTS credits are recognized and transferable to more advanced theological programmes (i.e. BD or MDiv) in either institution

The DipTS is right for you if:

  • You desire maximum flexibility and accessibility (daytime, evening, online and private study options)
  • You are a lay Christian who desires foundational yet high quality theological education
  • You are or will be serving as a lay leader in the Church

1.5 years (full-time) to five years (part-time)

Minimum Qualification
Full A-level certificate (2 As and 2 AOs) or equivalent. Mature students who do not meet the above requirement may be accepted provided the following requirements are met:

  • They have passed an entrance examination to determine their suitability (IF they have not met the above requirements)
  • They have demonstrated their ability to study at the DipTS level

Students can be admitted to the DipTS at either institution. The two institutions will share information regarding students admitted. If a student, having been admitted by one institution, but goes on (for whatever reason) to take the majority of the DipTS courses at the institution other than the one at which they were admitted, their registration should be transferred to the other institution.
