Who We Are

At BGST’s Centre for Spiritual Formation (CSF), we believe that a well-formed heart is essential for a well-lived life and faithful leadership in both church and marketplace contexts.

We exist to provide a nurturing space where you can deepen your awareness of your identity in God. As you encounter the depth of God’s love, you are invited to embrace your belovedness. From this place, you learn to recognise the belovedness of others and are moved to love and serve more fully.

Our Mission

To form Christians who love God, love themselves, and love others more fully – moving faith from the head to the heart so that theology and spiritual formation are lived out in everyday life.

Why Journey Us?

You may sense a desire for a deeper life with God – one where faith, calling, and everyday life come together with greater clarity and meaning. Yet this journey of spiritual formation can be difficult to navigate alone.

At the Centre for Spiritual Formation, we come alongside you as a guide on this journey. Through spiritual direction, attentive listening, and prayerful discernment, we help you notice and respond to God’s presence and work in your life.

Our spiritual directors accompany you as you seek to integrate theological understanding with lived experience, so that you may more fully live out your calling in Christ. Grounded in Scripture and attentive to the work of the Holy Spirit, our approach draws from the rich traditions of the Church while helping you engage faithfully with the realities of life and ministry today.

You will have access to a strong pool of trained and experienced spiritual directors who are able to accompany a wide range of spiritual journeys and needs. Each director serves within a shared framework of ministry standards and accountability, ensuring that spiritual direction is offered with care, wisdom, and integrity.

Our Standards for Spiritual Direction

As you journey with us, you can be assured that spiritual direction at BGST is guided by a shared framework that ensures integrity, accountability, and care.

We have established a Spiritual Direction Ministry Terms of Engagement, together with a Code of Conduct and ministry guidelines that articulate the commitments, boundaries, and practices shaping spiritual direction within the BGST community.

All spiritual directors serving with BGST agree to these standards, which guide ethical practice, confidentiality, and faithful engagement in the ministry of spiritual direction. Through these shared commitments, we seek to nurture Christ-centred spiritual formation and ensure that spiritual direction offered through BGST remains a trustworthy ministry for students, leaders, and the wider Christian community.

We also cultivate relationships with spiritual formation and retreat centres across the region. These partnerships allow us to connect you and your community with additional spaces and resources for rest, renewal, and discernment.
